ANANTAPUR : YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy resumed his Praja Sankalpa Yatra from Chigicherla village in Dharmavaram mandal on Saturday. On the 36th day of his padayatra, the Opposition Leader crossed the 500 km mark.    He planted a sapling at Gotturu to mark the occasion. People from various walks of life met the YSRC chief and narrated their problems to him. Contract lecturers, advocates and minority leaders were among those who met Jagan. He consoled the family members of YSRC activist Chenna Reddy, who was murdered recently, at Badannapalle village.

Contract lecturers of Sri Krishnadevaraya University told him that the State government was doing injustice to them in the name of screening test. The State government is yet to regularise the contract lecturers with a service of more than 16 years though the court gave a direction in this regard, they said.

APSRTC Union leaders who met the YSRC president, told him that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu failed to fulfil his promises made to strengthen the Road Transport Corporation. The APSRTC should be absorbed by the State government to bring it out of the red, they said, urging the YSRC chief to consider their plea if the party comes to power in the State in the next Assembly elections. Minority leader Abdul Ravoof along with his followers, joined the YSRC at Malkapuram crossroad.

The Praja Sankalpa Yatra received an overwhelming response from people at various places. The YSRC chief who listed to the people’s woes, promised to resolve all their problems if the party is voted to power in the next Assembly elections. Former MLA Kethireddy Venkatrami Reddy and other district YSRC leaders accompanied him during his yatra.
