Captaining the Indian cricket team for the first time, Rohit Sharma will aim to continue the momentum from the second match at Mohali in order to win his maiden series as captain.
India lost the first ODI in Dharamsala by a massive seven wickets, where the Indian batting line-up went through a dramatic collapse. However, led by captain Rohit, who created history by becoming the first batsman to score a third double ton in ODIs, India roared back to form in Mohali and levelled the series with a 141-run victory.
Ahead of South Africa tour, India will look to keep up their dominant form at home that has seen them win every series since the defeat to South Africa in October 2015.
On the contrary, if Sri Lanka pull off a win on Sunday, it will be their first bilateral ODI series win in India.
If India's past record at this venue is anything to go by, they have an excellent chance to keep their winning run going.
The hosts have lost only one of the seven matches they have played at this ground and a generally unimpressive Sri Lanka will have to be at the top their game to get past the Indians here.
