'Star Wars' toys set to rule global markets

"Star Wars" returns to the big screen this weekend, with fans young and old already lining up for its ticket. The latest movie in the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is sure to have one of the biggest opening weekends of the year, with an estimated $425 million in its global debut.
 
The eighth chapter will take us back to aging Luke Skywalker and his protege in-wait, Daisy Ridley's Rey on the aquatic planet of Ahch-To at the end of The Force Awakens.
 
Star Wars fans will connect to that and something more - the iconic toys, which were the foundation stones of George Lucas' Star Wars empire. The real-time action figure - from Boba Fett figures to big plastic Millennium Falcons - that made us feel like we could join the Rebel Alliance and fight against the Dark Side.

The movie released on Friday worldwide. In India, menswear firm Celio, toy brands Hasbro, Hamleys, Lego and Funskool, e-commerce company Amazon, online fashion retail firm Myntra and publishing company Scholastic are expected to generate nearly Rs 200 crore in retail sales, by selling licensed Star Wars merchandise.

Propel is something to watch out in this edition of Star Wars. There are several models of drones in the initial launch series: the T-65 X-wing Starfighter, Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1 and a 74-Z speeder bike. These drones are capable of speeds up to 50kmph. The best thing is the propellers are placedon the underside rather than at the top. You can control the drone through the remote control. An app can help you understand the functioning.

3. AR Headset with Lightsaber, $346.95
The Disney-designed and Lenovo-madeStar Wars experience headset has cameras, which brings the physical world into the VR experience. The tracking beacons will take you to the virtual world.

4. Millennium Falcon Lego Set, $799
This 7,541 pieces Millennium Falcon Lego set will help your children feel the Star Wars experience. The creators say this is the largest and most detailed Lego Falcon model they've ever made, with upper and lower quad laser cannons, landing legs and interchangeable crew members as Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and C-3PO.

5.Star Wars Couture
So you have a headset with Lightsaber, Lego set but not the perfect outfit to go with it? US-based clothing brand Rag & Bone has a dedicated line of Star Wars themed clothing. One white-padded jacket retails for $1,295 & to match, there's a Rag & Bone "Ellis Force Boot" for $695.
