Even as the Central and State Governments are providing huge amounts of money for development of education, due to the negligent attitude of the concerned departmental officers the education system in Ganjam district is in a mess and corruption is rampant.
Holding this view, a forum was formed “Ganjam District Shiksha Bachao Abhiyan” was formed in the presence of district’s intellectuals, educationists, scribes, social activists and senior citizens here on Saturday to strengthen the education system and create a good environment for studies.
The forum aims to review the departmental officials’ works and, if needed, to hold a stir against corruption. Representatives from all over the district would be engaged in the forum.
Senior journalist Rabi Rath has been selected as the forum’s president, eminent educationist Rajendra Kumar Panda as working president and educationist Kamraju Maharana as general secretary.
Among others, Prafulla Kumar Dash, Subash Chandra Mishra, Jagdanand Dash, Padma Lochan Mahapatra, Shyam Sundar Khadanga, Manas Ranjan Tripathy and Bhikari Behera were present.
