Diphu, Dec. 17 (EMN): To celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Christian communities of Diphu area organised Christmas carol cum car rally under the aegis of United Christian Forum (UCF) on Dec. 16 at Diphu town.
Inter denominational churches in around Diphu town participated in the event.
It was also seen that, the participants turned up in the program with more than 500 vehicles well decorated to be part of the the Christmas carol program.
Little children to young and old participated in the carol.
The rally was started from Christian English High school playground where Rev. Benting Teron, Chairman of the carol flagged off the carol around 12:30 pm, the rally was first headed to Diphu-Manja road till Manja and then back to Diphu and had a one round in the main road of Diphu town.
UCF, General Secretary, Tom Mangattuthazhe, informed Eastern Mirror correspondent that such carol is first of its kind being organised in the region, the car rally is an expression of Christian unity in the district of Karbi Anglong, Assam.
In the evening hours Christmas carol singing and gospel concert was also organised , Christmas album by Jambili Sisters was also released in the program.
The Christmas message was delivered by CBCNEI, General Secretary Rev. Dr. Solomon Rongpi.
