A Troy woman reported missing Sunday afternoon was found barely conscious at the bottom of a ravine suffering from severe hypothermia.
North Greenbush police said earlier Sunday they were searching for Susan M. Cramer-Machia, 37, She was last seen leaving the Cumberland Farms store at 499 N. Greenbush Road around 2 a.m. Sunday.
Machia-Cramer was found just before 6 p.m. Sunday by North Greenbush officer John Hudson and State Police Senior Investigator Eric Cullum in a ravine across from the Sunoco Gas Station on State Route 4 in North Greenbush.
North Greenbush Chief Robert Durivage said at least nine officers carried her 30 feet to waiting EMS crews. She was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Durivage said officers combed the area earlier in the day with search dogs and a helicopter.
They expanded their search area and tried to map out alternative routes she could have taken, Durivage said.
"I call it perseverance by law enforcement," he said. "Cross your 't's' and dot your 'i's" and then go back and do it again."
