MYMENSINGH: Law enforcers detained three people, who identified themselves as officers of Detective Branch (DM), in Mymensingh.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Nurul Islam confirmed the matter in a press conference on Sunday (December 17).
The detainees were identified as Md Sumon, 40, Akkas, 42, and Polash, 28.
Earlier on December 13, some fish traders lodged a case with Trishal police station alleging that they had been pickup up by some men who identified themselves as DB police. The fake DB men also snatched Tk 9.80 lakh from them.
The investigation of the case was handed over to District Detective Branch (DB) of Police and the three fake DB men were caught in drives conducted in Gazipur, Dhaka and Savar From areas from Friday (December 15) to Saturday (December 16).
Moreover, Tk 1.5 lakh was also seized from their possession.
