Stock of illegal liquor recovered from inter college in Ballia district

VARANASI: A huge stock of illegal liquor worth Rs 25 lakh was recovered from an inter college in Rasara area of Ballia district on Sunday.


The police arrested two staff members of the college in this connection.


According to reports, acting on a tip off the police raided Dharmadev Adarsh Inter College and recovered the illegal liquor stocked for smuggling to the dry state of Bihar.


The Rasara station officer Jagdish Chandra told TOI over phone that two persons were arrested and booked under sections 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 63 (amount of fine) of IPC and Excise Act.
