While ruling Congress is keeping its fingers crossed, opposition BJP is confident of party's victory in Gujarat.
Politicians in Karnataka, where elections are scheduled early next year, are keeping a close watch on the results of the Gujarat elections. While ruling Congress is keeping its fingers crossed, opposition BJP is confident of party's victory in Gujarat.

Backroom strategists of both the leading parties of Karnataka are watchful as the undercurrents in the state are still not clear. Sources in both the parties maintain the situation will change a lot once the results of the Gujarat elections are known.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief G Parameshwara said: "The result will tell whatever he did was right or wrong — whether it was demonetisation, GST, international relations, orientation towards US, relations with other countries, etc. The Gujarat elections will certify all this."

BJP leaders in Bengaluru are confident that their party will pass the Gujarat test since their "national president Amit Shah is known for his electioneering abilities".
