The Phiringia police in Kandhamal district on Friday arrested two accused persons on the charge of setting ablaze a woman after pouring kerosene on her on December 14.
The arrestees were identified as Simanchala Sahani and Mini Sahani. The duo set fire to Rubina Mallick, who succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
In another case, the police arrested a 35-year-old man for killing 32-year-old Tuni Kanhar, wife of Bharat Kanhar of Brudipada village, and burying her body in the Seperimuta hills near Motingia village. The arrestee was identified as Bharat Kanhar of Brudipada village.
