Al Gharafa's attacking midfielder Vladimir Weiss underwent a surgery on the cruciate ligament of his knee at Qatar's orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital Aspetar.
The Slovak suffered the injury towards the end of first half during their 3-1 victory over Al Arabi in Week 10 of the QNB Stars League and had to be stretchered off the field. He has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Al Gharafa Football Head Mahmoud Al Ghazal, Marketing Manager Jassim Al Qureshi as well as officials Ahmad Faisal and Fahad Ali visited Weiss to wish him a speedy recovery. A number of players too wished him well.
Weiss had a productive stint with erstwhile Lekhwiya before he joined Al Gharafa in 2016. He is also a key member of Slovakian team.
Meanwhile, QNB Stars League side Al Sadd announced the return of right-back Hamed Ismail from Al Arabi till the end of this season in a bid to strengthen their defence.
Hamed started his career at Al Arabi, then plied his trade with Al Rayyan and Al Sadd before his homecoming to Al Arabi recently.
