BENGALURU: Following the refusal of permission by the city police commissioner to hold an event featuring Sunny Leone on New Year’s Eve, the organisers of the event are approaching the police and home minister Ramalinga Reddy with a request to reconsider their decision.

On Friday, Commissioner T Suneel Kumar had said permission will not be given for the event as the police expected a law-and-order issue to crop up at the event, and could not afford to give the event extra security as the force would be deployed across the city on the night of December 31.

Harish M S, Managing Director of the advertising firm ‘Time Creations’ which is organising the event, said he has been trying to meet Reddy since Saturday morning, but wasn't able to meet him yet. He said he also intends to meet Commissioner T Suneel Kumar following his meeting with Reddy.

“I want them to give me in writing that on what grounds they have denied permission for the event. They mentioned law-and-order, let them give me the same in writing. That is the procedure to be followed. Until now I have not received any official communication.”

Harish said once he receives in writing the grounds on which permission to the event was denied, he will then consider how to respond. “The DCP (North) verbally told me a day before yesterday that the permission will not be given due to some reason. Now the commissioner is saying it is a law-and-order problem. Let them stick to one reason,” he said.

Tickets for the event are still available on a website, and Harish is aware of this. He said until he gets the official communication in writing, the tickets would continue to be sold. Advertisements of the event are also being relayed on FM radio stations.
