Expert shares immunity tips to tackle cold

Indore : As temperature falls and sunlight rarely warms the day, people tend to fall sick and are also catching cold and several infections.

Discussing various ways in which people can strengthen their body’s immunity and create balance in body, Dr Lokesh Raturi performed ‘nadi pariksha’ (pulse analysis) of participants in an Ayurveda camp, organised at Art of Living Centre on its concluding day on Saturday.


The expert doctor also shared several homemade remedies of seasonal diseases, which would come handy as the temperature rises.

Talking about various personal traits of human beings that lead to imbalance, Raturi said, “Everything in our body is interconnected and thus, affects everything else.” He elaborated that emotional state and mental imbalance are major causes of diseases.

Indigenous techniques for sore throat

Honey Remedy: Honey can be mixed with tea or turmeric to help beat a cough and sore throat. Honey works as an effective wound healer which is why it speeds up the healing process of a sore throat

Turmeric Remedy:  Turmeric has excellent anti-inflammatory properties and tends to heal and soothe the throat when irritated due to a cough or cold

Ginger Tea Remedy:  Ginger works brilliantly as a sore throat remedy. Ginger helps flush out toxins from your body and also boosts blood circulation. It has anti-inflammatory properties that kills bacteria and soothes inflammation in the throat

Salt Water Remedy:  Gargling with salt water can soothe a sore throat and break down secretions. Salt acts as a mild antiseptic and helps clear out phlegm stuck in your throat.

Garlic Remedy: Garlic has antibacterial properties which can help kill cold bacteria in your body.
