Last Jedi's Mark Hamill SLAMS The Force Awakens as less original than Star Wars prequels
STAR WARS 8 The Last Jedi actor Mark Hamill has praised the prequel trilogy for being more original than JJ Abrams’ The Force Awakens.
Episodes I-III may be derided as poor films by Star Wars and movie fans alike, but Luke Skywalker himself thinks differently.
In a new interview, Hamill highlighted how George Lucas was more original and enjoyed his use of CGI.
Speaking with Metro, the actors said: “What I thought was great about the prequels was the different technology that I had never seen before. All that CGI.
“And the fact that [George Lucas] wasn’t trying to do the same experience all over again.”

Hamill then compared the prequels to The Force Awakens, which he hinted at being a copy of A New Hope.
The actor added: “I thought The Force Awakens did that more than the early ones because it had that the girl from a different planet, the Death Star, the Cantina sequence.”
Hamill only appeared in the very final scene of The Force Awakens and had no lines.
The star previously slammed director JJ Abrams over his tiny cameo, calling him a “sadist.”

He said: “JJ is a sadist. If he had confided in me that the whole movie is them searching for me then that would have been fine.
“Instead he said, ‘I’m sending the script over. Read it from page one and imagine it just like a movie.’
“I’ll tell you this: when I got the script for Episode VIII, I turned to the last page and started reading it backwards!”
Star Wars The Last Jedi is out now.
