Congress party on Friday ended its ‘Jan Adhikar Padyatra’ from Sakarra of Chandrapur assembly segment two days prior to its scheduled culmination.
The Yatra was ended as the senior leaders including Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel have been called to New Delhi in the swearing-in ceremony of AICC President Rahul Gandhi. The Yatra was ended with a public meeting held at Sakarra at village Bhothia in Jaijaipur Assembly segment.
Addressing the public meeting, the CGPCC Chief said the ‘Padyatra’ was an old tradition of Congress party.
It is a powerful medium of interaction for sharing views, he said. The Congress has always provided people their rights, he said.
When it was the UPA regime at the Centre, people were getting 35 kgs of rice whereas now the quota has been reduced to 7 kgs, he said.
