Actress Bhumi Pednekar says she loves wearing make-up

I love make-up. I am a make-up hoarder, in fact from a very young age, I started doing my own make-up,” said Bhumi Pednekar, who was here to launch the skin and health care brand Divine Organics.

Bhumi believes that there is an urgent call for replacing the chemical filled cosmetic products with natural ones. “Especially, when it comes to my skin, I still prefer sticking to gharelu nuskhe (Homemade Remedies) to maintain a fresh and healthy skin,” she said.

For Bhumi, beauty is all about the state of mind. “We are living in a time where we are breathing toxic air, unknown to the fact that how badly it might be effecting our skin. Having the possible way to ease my body I would definitely prefer cosmetics to keep it healthy and fresh.”

The actress has been outspoken on social issues and when asked about what she personally feels about sexual harassment at workplace, she said, “Sexual harassment is not something that is new. Unfortunately, it has been a part of every single sector. That fact that women around the world are now speaking up is giving a lot of other women the inspiration to talk about such issues without being ashamed’’.

Bhumi, has been very particular about her choice of films. When asked about choosing challenging roles fearlessly, the actress shared, “I don’t really bother if my role requires to be pretty or not. Even while selecting a script, I just look for what my character demands and I’m very particular of them.”

Talking about the brand, Bhumi said: “Even for somebody like me who personally loves using natural things and home remedies, they have something... Everything we do — from the air we breath to the food we eat — is full of toxins and full of chemicals.”

On the acting front, Bhumi is currently prepping for Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial Chambal. The film, also starring Sushant Singh Rajput, is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
