The 59-year-old entertainer has publicly spoken about her heartbreak following late husband and magician Paul Daniels’ death.

Plagued by reports of a secret fling with her dance partner Giovanni Pernice, 27, Debbie McGee’s sensual dances with the Sicilian and their on-camera chemistry have had viewers convinced there is more to their partnership behind-the-scenes. 

Now, the star has revealed that even if she was receiving attention from the opposite sex, she’s been too busy with the gruelling training regime to entertain it. 

“I haven’t had time to even notice,” she told Express.co.uk and other media.

“I’ve just been learning dances and there’s no time in your life while Strictly’s on, so I have no idea,” Debbie added with a laugh.

Despite the open declaration about the petite blonde’s lack of romance - Strictly or otherwise - it didn’t stop her partner Giovanni from revealing how he was taken-aback by her in their first meeting. 

As Debbie giggled, the dancer confessed: “I asked her can she split, and she said, ‘I think I can’, so I said, ‘Let me see’. 

“She did the kick, and I instantly thought, ‘This is going to be amazing thank you so much for Flexi McGee, I’m going to be having the best time of my life with you - happy days’.”

Gushing over his partner’s skill, Giovanni added: “It’s one of those things where Christmas came early once she did the kick. I was like, [flutters eyelashes] ‘Do it again, do it again’.”

The Strictly Come Dancing final airs tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One.
