While speculation was rife that the shoot was stalled after a police complaint was lodged against the film's unit head, the Dhadak team says that they did not shoot on Friday as the director was unwell.
The shooting of the film Dhadak, featuring newbies
Ishaan Khatter and
Janhvi Kapoor, was stalled in Jaipur on Friday, allegedly because of protests by some local residents. A police complaint was lodged against the film's unit head because some parts of the Ambikeshwar Mahadev Temple were supposedly damaged. While the shooting was taking place at the Jagat Shiromani Temple and
Panna Meena Ka Kund, the crew had parked vanity vans and installed tents near the Ambikeshwar Mahadev Temple. One of the locals, who had lodged the police complaint against the film's unit head, told us, "One of their vans hit the chhajja of the temple and it got damaged. We don't have any problem with them shooting in Jaipur but they have no right to damage our historic temple. I submitted a police complaint against the film's unit head for damaging the historic property at Amer Police Station."
On Thursday, Ishaan and Janhvi were spotted shooting for a Holi sequence in a song at Panna Meena Ka Kund
We tried getting in touch with the line producer but he did not answer our phone calls. However, according to sources close to the production house, the shooting was cancelled on Friday but they cited film director
Shashank Khaitan's poor health to be the reason behind shoot cancellation.
When we spoke to Narendra Kumar, SHO, Amer Police Station, he said,"It was a non-cognizable offence. The matter has been resolved. Compensation has been given to the temple authorities by the concerned people."
