MP C S Puttaraju, who is facing criminal charges, stayed away from the inaugural ceremony of the new Court Complex in which Karnataka High Court Judge A S Bopanna was the chief guest, on Saturday.
It is said that the MP kept away from the programme as an RTI activist, K R Raveendra, had urged the judge not to share the dais with the MP as he is facing the criminal charges. However, the MP claimed that he could not attend the event owing to the birthday celebrations of JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru.
