Junior Joseph Girard III scored 60 points to lead Glens Falls to an 86-76 win over visiting Amsterdam on Friday in a Foothills Council boys' basketball clash.

Girard is now just one point short of former Indians standout Jimmer Fredette for the Glens Falls school record. Fredette finished his career with 2,404 total points and Girard now has 2,403. Girard is averaging 49.2 points per game for the Indians this season, who are a perfect 5-0 on the year.

More boys' basketball: In a back-and-forth game, A.J. Lawton led a furious fourth quarter comeback by Saratoga as the Blue Streaks topped Colonie, 61-56. Lawton nailed three 3-pointers and scored all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter as Saratoga outscored Colonie 21-8 to erase a seven-point deficit. Brian Hart led Saratoga with 16 points and Nick Chudy added 14, all in the first half. Isaiah Moll led Colonie with 24 points. Will Aybar sank five 3-pointers, including three in the second quarter as the Garnet Raiders erased an early eight-point deficit to take a 35-33 lead by halftime. ... Lateef Johnson scored 12 to help Troy edge host Mohonasen, 52-49, in a Suburban Council game. Duncan Tallman had 17 points to lead the Mighty Warriors. ... Matthew Boyle scored 16 points and Trevor Porter chipped in 15 points as Johnstown edged past Broadalbin-Perth, 51-49, in a Foothills Council game. Dante Calderone and Troy Monroe combined for 29 points for the Patriots. ... Jackson Atty scored 11 points as Fonda built a huge lead early and held on for a 43-40 win over OESJ. The Braves built a 28-15 lead by halftime, but Devin Jones and Elias Sanchez rallied the Wolves. Jones and Sanchez scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. ... Slade Pulliam and Pat Meehan led Berne-Knox back from an 18-point deficit in the fourth quarter to give the Bulldogs a 59-56 victory over Mayfield. Pulliam scored nine of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and Meehan added nine of his 12 in the late rally. Mayfield sank 10 3-pointers, including four from Josh Wasson and three each from Garrett Delaney and Daniel Leach, to build a 49-31 lead after three quarters. Delaney finished with 20 points and Leach added 18.

Girls' basketball: Loudonville Christian rolled to a 46-15 victory over Doane Stuart in a Central Hudson Valley League contest. Kirsten Litchfield had 11 points to lead the Eagles' offense. Alyssa Calcagano was the only scorer for Doane Stuart, dropping in all 15 for the Thunder Chicken. ... Berne-Knox picked up a 63-53 win at Mayfield in a Western Athletic Conference game. Taylor Meacham scored 27 points for the Bulldogs.
