There’s a cute baby sitting across the aisle from me on my flight home and she just cracked a big, two-toothed smile when I waved at her. The best. Totally giving me life right now.
Can confirm @ChrisBHaynes report that Bucks plan to waive Gary Payton II on Mon. as his days of service run out. Per source, Bucks have their eye on another player to take his spot and need to move quickly to get him. New player on two-way would get pro-rated days (30ish) in NBA.
Bledsoe when asked about his wrist: “It’s fine. Just a little sprain, but I’m cool.”
On subbing out early to get it re-taped: “It just needed to be tighter, put a little more pressure on it. … It’s something that’s been lingering for a while. I’ve just got to play through it.”
Eric Bledsoe said he’s been playing through a left wrist sprain. Said it’s a lingering thing. He came out early in the 1st quarter because his tape wasn’t tight enough and wanted his wrist re-taped. Ultimately played 36 minutes and scored 19 points on 7 of 18 shooting.
Bucks fall 115-111. Another game close in the 4th quarter where they couldn’t get over the hump. Went 8 of 27 on 3’s (Middleton 3/9; Bledsoe 1/7). Season-high 34 fouls. Giannis had 28 point & Brogdon added 20 off the bench.
Giannis misfires on a 3 and Harden will head to the line with Houston up 111-106 with 21.8 seconds left. Bucks have been called for a season-high 32 fouls.
Two missed layups by Giannis — he expected a foul call on the second — and the Bucks are in an 8-point hole at 91-83 with 8:22 left as Jason Kidd calls timeout.
James Harden with a layup to beat the 3rd-quarter buzzer and the Rockets lead the Bucks, 84-79, heading into the 4th. Harden up to 25 points to lead Houston, with 10 in the 3rd. Giannis tops the Bucks with 20. Bucks have committed 26 fouls & Rockets have made 28/31 FTs.
So much hustle there from the Bucks. First Sterling Brown saved a miss from going out then GP2 w/ an acrobatic putback on a missed runner by Middleton.
Nene blocked by the rim on a dunk attempt then fouls Henson going for a dunk of his own. Bucks have used a 13-3 run to pull within one at 73-72 with the FTs pending. There's 2:24 left in the 3rd.
Chris Paul was 0/5 from the field at half. He's taken 3 shots in the second half — all 3-pointers — and he's made them all. Bucks down 70-59 with 7:06 left in the 3rd as Jason Kidd calls timeout.
DeAndre Liggins fouled James Harden on a 3 and now John Henson has fouled PJ Tucker on a 3. Both of those plays have happened in the 2:35 that have elapsed here in the 3rd quarter. Accounts for all 6 of Houston's points since half.
I don't understand what Giannis was doing there. Just held the ball for all 8 seconds of the shot clock out of the timeout. Not a shot clock violation because Henson whistled for 3 seconds with 0.1 left on the shot clock.
Eric Bledsoe with a steal and that brings us to the half with the score knotted at 55. Bledsoe and Brogdon lead the Bucks with 13 points each. Nene — yes, Nene — leads the Rockets with 16 points on 7/8 shooting.
Eric Bledsoe has been getting swarmed and stymied on a lot of drives tonight. Just had the ball ripped away by Nene and committed a frustration foul. That's 3 on Bledsoe with 11.4 seconds left in the half.
Henson sitting down now and got attention from trainers. Had a talk with Sean Sweeney and seems to be OK considering he's been left alone. Initial reaction didn't look good, though.
