HYDERABAD: Maoist ideologue Kobad Ghandy was picked up by the Jharkhand police with the support of Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Telangana police, from a local court in Nagarkurnool district on Saturday.

Later, Ghandy, in a hand written letter, said that the government should be held responsible if "anything were to happen to him".

A few days ago, Ghandy was released from Visakhapatnam jail after getting bail in a pending case.

Ghandy was picked up by Jharkhand police minutes after he came out of the court after appearing in a pending case for allegedly helping Maoists attack the Amrabad police station.

Ghandy was reportedly questioned for some time before he was brought to Hyderabad, where he was supposed to be produced in Nampally criminal court.

"I was informed that Ghandy will be produced in Nampally court to obtain transit warrant. But he was not produced and was taken to RGI Airport before he was taken to Jharkhand. Tenughat court in Jharkhand issued an arrest warrant against Ghandy in a pending case," Ghandy's Advocate B Ravindranath told TOI.

Ghandy was lodged at Visakhapatnam jail and came out on bail on Tuesday.
