Andhra Pradesh: Woman threatens to set self ablaze

KADAPA: A woman worker of a bakery store created a scene in Proddatur near Shivalayam centre by attempting suicide by pouring petrol on her on  Friday. According to police, one Prasad running Trupthi bakery store in a dilapidated municipal complex, located near Shivalayam centre. The municipal officials issued notices to the occupants of the building to vacate it in six months.

However, on the request of occupants the time was extended by another six months with December 1 as deadline. As the deadline ended, Municipal Commissioner B Seshanna asked the bakery owner Prasad to vacate the building as it was in poor condition. But he did not agree and picked up an argument with the municipal officials. Suddenly, A Padma, a worker in the bakery, poured petrol on her in bid to commit suicide. In the melee, petrol also spilled on Municipal Commissioner. However, the officials prevented the attempt of the woman.
