An awareness programme on ‘Adoption of Solar Energy for Apparel Industry’ was organized at a city hotel by Apex Cluster Development Services under MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Cluster Intervention programme (MCIP) of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Cluster development manager SS Bedi, while welcoming all the dignitaries, shared details of the cluster intervention programme for the apparel industry, and said government schemes were always for the benefit of the industry, but it depended on businessmen how they availed the schemes after understanding and fulfilling the formalities.
The programme began with a presentation on financial literacy and 4E scheme with case studies and solar rooftop systems by KV Kiran Kumar, senior technical expert, who explained the procedures, benefits, and feasibility of solar energy. Manoj Kumar, expert (Operations), SIDBI, shared information about the various schemes being run by the bank, and gave a presentation as well.
