PORVORIM: Chief minister Manohar Parrikar assured the Goa assembly that he will try and finalise identification of land to for the proposed Ravindra Bhavan in Bardez taluka by the end of current financial year.

Speaking during 'Question Hour' on Friday, in response to some members stating that there is not much progress in building Ravindra Bhavan in Mapusa, Parrikar said that the project could not proceed as they couldn't find the land for the same.

The question was tabled by Tivim MLA Nilkant Halarnkar, who said that despite forming a committee the project has not progressed.

Minister for art and culture Govind Gawde said that land has been the main problem, and the project can be expedited once land is identified.

Halarnkar suggested that land at Colvale be considered for the project, but Parrikar said they want a centrally-located space for the project. "I will take the lead and sort out this issue," Parrikar said.
