PM Narendra Modi inaugurates power project in Mizoram, says govt committed to development of region

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today, inaugurated the hydroelectric power project in Tuirial in Mizoram.

The Prime Minister is on a visit to Mizoram and Meghalaya ahead of elections in both the states next year.

On the development of the region, the Prime Minister underlined the fact that his government constituted the ministry for development of north eastern region. So, the people don't have to come to Delhi for the redressal of their grievances.

The Prime Minister also invoked the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee saying that in his tenure a lot of development work happened in the region.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the Tuirial hydroelectric power project got clearance at the time of the Atal Behari Vajpayee's government but was delayed after that. Its completion under the present government is a reflection of the committment of this government to complete ongoing projects, Modi said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a slew of development projects in the two states.
