The Centre has given its approval to accord e-visas at Visakhapatnam airport. According to Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhilapriya, the tourist-visa-on-arrival will come into effect at Visakhapatnam airport from Saturday.

The step would go a long way in promoting tourism in Andhra Pradesh as tourists would be able to visit Visakhapatnam with online visas, she added. The e-visa facility is available at 16 airports in the country. Tourists from 147 countries can directly reach Visakhapatnam with the launch of visa-on-arrival facility.
