Dubai Superseries Final Semi-final: PV Sindhu vs Chen Yu Fei, Highlights: As It Happened

PV Sindhu will play Akane Yamaguchi in the summit clash of Dubai Superseries Final. 

PV Sindhu beat Chen Yu Fei 21-15, 21-18 

PV Sindhu takes the match in 58 minutes to book her berth in the final. 

Chen tries to smash it but hits the net. Sindhu is celebrating. She is on match point

Sindhu concedes yet another point. She is visibly tired and Chen is one point away from her. 

That was the longest rally of the match. 57 shots. 

Long long rally has Sindhu tired and bent over. Chen though finally takes the point. Sindhu leads 19-17

Sindhu is now two points away from the Dubai Superseries Final summit clash. Sindhu leads 19-16

Chen makes a fault as she hits the net with her racket. But Sindhu wins the rally any way and edges towards the win. She leads 18-16 

Sindhu is given a yellow card after she did not return to the court when asked. Sindhu is struggling with her fitness. 

Chen makes an unforced error on the shot. Sindhu breathes a sigh of relief as it is 16-16 

Chen finding space on the forehand smash again and finding points again. She leads 16-15

Chen has worked that rally well against a tiring Sindhu. Smashes it into the corner beyond Sindhu to bring scores to 15-15. The last rally was 37 shots

Sindhu looses the challenge and her pace in the game has gone down. Sindhu still leads 15-14 though.  

Sindhu follows up well and aggressively with a smash straight down the line. She leads 15-11 

Chen has suddenly upped the ante against Sindhu who does not look her fittest today. Sindhu though leads 14-11 

Excellent rally and Sindhu was forced to defend. But Chen makes another unforced error to end the rally in Sindhu's favour after 27 shots. Sindhu leads 13-9 

Sindhu follows up well, pushes Chen into a corner and the return doesn't go beyond the net. Sindhu leads Chen 12-9

Chen fights back with great spirit after the interval to get a winner past Sindhu. Chen leads 11-9. Sindhu seems to be having some trouble with a cold 

At the break in the second game, Sindhu leads 11-8. She has been excellent all through the match. Moving her opponent around the court and forcing the errors. Absolutely stamped her class on this match.

Chen has fought back quickly against Sindhu who has relentless in attack so far in this match. Chen trails 7-9. 

Sindhu pushes Chen right to the back court and her return once again finds the net under pressure. Sindhu is turning up the ante. She has a 5 point lead at 9-4 

Sindhu is making good use of her reach. A fast rally is dominated by her as Chen once again finds the net. Sindhu leads 8-4

Sindhu is unable to pick up the low smash. Chen trails Sindhu 4-7

Brilliant. Backhand smash at the net. That was hit like a rocket. Sindhu leads 7-3. Gopichand enjoyed that play. 

Chen's has had quite a few shots hit the net and that has not helped her case. Sindhu leads 6-3 

Both players moving well on the baseline in that rally. Chen's shot though is too long and Sindhu moves into a 5-3 lead

It's almost a repeat play on the next serve - a measured smash as Sindhu leads 4-3 

Deep smash followed up by a winner by Sindhu and Chen can't move an inch. Sindhu's coach Gopichand enjoyed that. Sindhu draws level 3-3
