Busy over phone, youth falls from stadium wall, dies

Patna: A 20-yer-old youth died after a fall from the Moin-ul Haq stadium's boundary wall from where he was talking over the phone wearing headphones on Saturday noon.


City's Bahadurpur police station SHO K K Gupta quoted eyewitnesses to say that Ravi Kumar was sitting on the boundary wall and lost balance "He fell on the ground on his back with his headphones on," the SHO said and added he was rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.


According to the police officer, preliminary investigations revealed he was talking to a girl over the cellphone and died apparently of injuries in the back portion of his head.


A native of Udakishunganj in Madhepura, Ravi was staying a private lodge in Bahadurpur and doing graduation with honours in English literature from Patna's T P S College. The youth's family has been informed about the tragedy.
