PATNA: Altogether 282 Class XII Damians wrapped in white and golden angelic sari attended their graduation ceremony at Notre Dame Academy (NDA) on Saturday. The event on the theme, 'Light the passion, share the dream', commenced with a prayer service and an oath-taking ceremony.

On the occasion, Cenina Lucine Aziz, who was selected last year to pursue a six-month course at NDA in Lon Angeles, was given the 'Scholarship Award'.

While Akshita, Shreya, Taanvi and Shambhavi Singh were given 'Leadership Award', the 'House Captain Award' went to Shadia, Purvi Singh, Nada Hamida and Insha Fatima.

The 'Student Council Award' went to Nikita, Shambhavi Singh, Taanvi Shah, Samriddhi, Shreya Kaushal, Akshita, Ojaswini, Isha Vadihi, Prachi Prano, Rishita, Ekta, Sakhahi Prasad, Bhawna and Muskan Singh.

Chief guest Dr Manisha Singh shared the life mantra with the students. "The life of a woman is the God's most valuable gift to the earth," the eminent oncologist said and cited quite a few success stories of women and examples of women empowerment.

Provincial Superior Sr Mary Tessy was the special guest. School principal Sr Mary Jessy counselled the grads to fearlessly handle the tides that awaited them in life ahead.

The parents of the students expressed their gratitude to the school for its contribution to the development of their daughters. Some students also shared their experiences with a broad smile while some others turned emotional while bidding bye to their school of several years.

In fact, several parents were also teary eyed as their young ones, a candle each in their hands, walked through the auditorium singing their school song. The candles symbolised the spark the school has rekindled in them.

The students were felicitated with diplomas and mementos. As the ceremony came to an end, the young girls marched out as the ladies raring to face the world with grit and gumption.
