STRICTLY Come Dancing finalist Joe McFadden is flying the flag for Scotland tonight as he bids to become the first celebrity from north of the Border to lift the glitterball.

The Holby City star, 42, is the bookmakers' favourite, at odds of 8/11, to win the competition with his professional partner Katya Jones.

He said it was a "dream come true" to be in the final, where he is up against Debbie McGee, Alexandra Burke and Gemma Atkinson.

The Glasgow-born actor also praised the Strictly producers for putting together a diverse line-up.

"The good thing about the line-up this year is everyone is represented.

"People can see themselves in the show and I think that's important. That's one of the reasons we can all relate to it very much," he added.

The four couples will each perform three dances tonight, including a showdance.

McGee, who described her showdance as a "very nice swansong" to her time on the show, said she wants to "make the most of every opportunity" arising from Strictly Come Dancing.
