Woman killed by truck near St. Lawrence Market

A woman in her 20s was struck and killed while crossing the street at an intersection near the St. Lawrence Market just after the noon-hour Friday.

Toronto Police say the pedestrian was crossing at Church and Front Sts. when she was struck by a truck and ended up underneath the vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was also struck and taken to hospital with a foot injury.

The investigating is ongoing.
