Haryana CM order war on drug, crime against women

The Haryana Police on Thursday launched a month-long special campaign which would continue up to January 15, 2018 to prevent and detect crime against women, to detect narcotics smuggling and crack down all most wanted criminals in the State.  

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal reviewed the law and order situation in the State and the progress made in the Uklana rape and murder case. He directed the police department to take all possible steps to prevent occurrence of such incidents in future.

The CM said that all the educational institutions must be visited by senior police officers, including Inspector Generals, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police over a time period of three months and assistance of NGOs may be taken to organise special sensitisation programmes for ensuring safety of women in districts. Factories and business establishments, where a large number of women employees are working should also be visited, the CM directed the police.
