Market Now: Tyre stocks rally on subdued rubber prices

NEW DELHI: Most of the tyre stocks were rallying in Friday's trade on subdued rubber prices globally.

Shares of J K Tyre & Industries (up 8.83 per cent), Apollo Tyres (up 4.78 per cent), CEAT (up 3.11 per cent), MRF (up 2.87 per cent), TVS Srichakra (up 2.66 per cent), PTL Enterprises (up 2.30 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 1.37 per cent) were trading up around 1.15 pm (IST) on Friday.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 94 points up at 10,346, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was 281 points up at 33,528.

Vedanta, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco Industries, YES Bank, Eicher Motors, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Hindustan Unilever, NTPC, Bharti Infratel, Power Grid Corporation of India and Tata Consultancy Services were trading in the red.
