Parliament Winter Session Day-1 Live: Chaos In Rajya Sabha Over Sharad Yadav's Disqualification

PM Modi addressed press ahead of the winter session in parliament today.

New Delhi:  Following an aggressive assembly election campaign in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed discussion on all issues in winter session of parliament which begins today. 

An all-party meeting was held Thursday ahead of the first day of winter session of parliament. Opposition had earlier attacked Modi government for delay in winter session. 

"The Government has requested all parties, especially the opposition, for their co-operation for the smooth functioning of the House," Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar announced on Thursday after the all-party meeting.

During the winter session, the government is expected to table 25 pending bills and 14 new bills. This includes a bill providing Muslim women the right to seek maintenance in case of triple talaq, PTI reported.
