Rajkot: Old enmity between Junagadh Congress councillor Rekha Solanki and her distant relatives resurfaced on Thursday night with warring groups opening fire on each other's houses.
Rekha's relative Manoj lodged a complaint against Sanjay alias Badiyo Solanki, Vicky Solanki and 10 others, alleging Sanjay had fired two rounds on her house. He alleged that the group also resorted to heavy stone pelting on the house. However, Sanjay's mother Sharda, too, lodged a complaint against Rekha's husband Raju Solanki, son Chandu and some others, alleging that Raju had opened fire on her house.
Accused in both the complaints have been booked under Arms Act and rioting.
The two families have been at loggerheads for over three years now over some internal disputes. In August, too, Sanjay Solanki and 10 others had allegedly opened fire at Raju near Junagadh Gymkhana after the latter had lodged a complaint against some locals for selling liquor near Pradeep Talkies area. tnn
