Wallace Gilberry announces retirement from NFL

Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry announced his retirement on Instagram, shortly after his 33rd birthday.

I didn't come in the NFL how I wanted to nor did I leave how I wanted to but all that said in 9yrs #IHADMYWAY and my time is served wanna thank each and eveyone one of y'all who held Gil down since the #92 days to now I love and appreciate all y'all and I can honestly say it feel good to be 33 and retired 😎 OG me......

An undrafted free agent out of the University of Alabama in 2008, Gilberry played nine NFL seasons - including four with the Bengals. He also played for the Kansas City Chiefs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions.

The Bengals re-signed Gilberry in March but released him in September.
