Tim Reilly, a 1976 graduate of St. Xavier High School and current principal of St. Ignatius Loyola School, will return to his alma mater as president in July 2018, St. Xavier officials announced.
"Tim was chosen following a rigorous national search led by a diverse committee," a news release from the school said Friday. "[Reilly] values the Jesuit Catholic identity that is at the core of our mission as an institution, he feels a deep passion for St. Xavier."
Reilly has spent the past 23 years at St. Ignatius. The board said during his tenure he expand the school's facilities and increased enrollment.
Reilly will be replacing Fr. Timothy Howe, who began serving as president in 2009.
After graduating from St. Xavier, Reilly received an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Miami University. He received a masters degree in education from Xavier University in 1989.
He has previously served on the St. Xavier's board of trustees and has served on National Catholic Education Association and other Catholic education organizations.
