Star Wars 8 DELETED SCENES extended cut BAD NEWS: Knights of Ren? Snoke back story?

The Last Jedi has received an unexpectedly negative reaction from many fans after its release this week.

Anticipation was sky high and Disney was backing Rian Johnson as the director to reinvigorate the franchise and move it forward into new trilogies.

Instead, fan comments have slammed Episode 8, particularly its treatment of Luke and Snoke.

Johnson's original cut was reported to be over three hours and there was hope that the Blu-ray would restore scenes and address the flaws fans have found with the theatrical version.

There were also reports that some of the deleted scenes had advanced far enough in the process to receive a soundtrack.

It was confirmed that composer John Wlliams had scored the music for some of these scenes and fans will hoping that they make their way onto the home entertainment package, which typically has been released the following April after each Star wars movie hits cinemas.

Fans have been particularly unhappy with the disappointing scenes involving Snoke and will be hoping for more about the hugely-anticipated First Order Leader.

Digital Spy asked Johnson about the chances of deleted scenes or a longer cut on the home entertainment release.

He said: “We took out whole sequences that are going to be on the Blu-ray. The movie as it’s cut now is the best version of the movie. I would never do an extended cut but we’re going to put the deleted scenes on the Blu-ray for people to see.”

This is bound to infuriate many fans. Even the overwhelming positive critics have flagged that the middle section of the movie sags. In fact, it is increasingly clear that the entire Canto Bight adventure is utterly pointless, since it achieves nothing.

Other scenes, like Luke 'milking' the alien sea monster have also met with fan disapproval.

The worry is that even more scenes from Canto Bight will be shown or additional 'humorous' and inconsequential moments.

What fans had really wanted to see was the rumoured extended version of the Force Awakens Forceback vision with Kylo and the Knight of Ren. Even worse, descriptions of some truly exciting scenes had been leaked.

There had been substantial reports that extensve fight scenes, including impressive wire work, had been filmed in Ireland, leading many to hope for a confrontation between Luke and Rey against Kylo and his Knights.

Will these make it onto the Blu-ray, and, if so, why the Force were they cut from the film in the first place?
