Parrikar on Thursday said the Serendipity Arts Festival 2017 should be made a "central focal point" as it was an "extremely good festival". In his short speech after inaugurating the festival, Parrikar said his support would be there to be make it a "grander affair next year".
"When you are here, close your ears and your eyes take over. It is an excellent job done. Of course, some people have problem with even this extremely good festival. There's already a case in NGT by few people who seems to be obsessed with ideas of... they want there to be no development even at the cost of doing something good," he said.
Talking about the eight-day festival, that begins on Friday, with 70 performing art genres over multiple venues,

Sunil Munjal said the idea is not just to showcase art, but to give people an experience of multi-disciplinary projects. "Many of the projects have music, theatre, acts and art altogether and this is deliberate attempt," he said.
Goa was selected as the festival venue because it is 'truly the most inclusive part' of the country, he said.
The eight-day festival, that ends on December 22, is filled with performances and an exciting extravaganza of displays around Panaji city. They will be open to the public for free.
