BSc, BBA pupils win PWC carol contest

PATNA: Students of BSc and BBA won the first prize in carol singing competition organised by Patna Women's College on its campus on Friday. While BSc students got prize in Hindi segment for the song 'naache gagan', the BBA students bagged the prize in English category for the song 'Oh! What a glorious night'. In Hindi, the second position was shared by geography department and BCA and students of CEMS got the third prize. All India Catholic University Federation bagged the second prize and geography department secured third position in English category. The event was judged by Fr Christu Savarirajan SJ, Rev Fr Oswald Saldanha SJ and Sr Rashmi Joseph SSH.

Addressing the students, college principal Sr Marie Jessie AC gave the message of generosity, compassion and love. She congratulated the winners for their joyful performance.


IIT-Patna: Rajneesh Singh and team emerged as the winner of Hackathons and bagged Rs 25,000 cash prize at Nexus-IITP, organised by the Incubation Centre and Entrepreneurship Club of Indian Institute of Technology-Patna on Friday. On the concluding day of the two-day event, Dr Prashant Jha from AIIMS-Delhi said money should not be the only motive for entrepreneurship. He said if the startup founder does not have a strong passion for their product, they will not be able to persist through the bad times, which is a given in a startup run. Convenor and co-convenor of the programme Dr Probir Saha and Dr Jimson Mathew presented certificate and cash prize to the winning team.


St Karen's High School: Students of St Karen's High School presented several cultural programmes on the annual sports day of the school on Friday. The event began with welcome dance followed by march past, oath-taking ceremony and flag hoisting by CBSE regional officer (Bihar and Jharkhand) Lakhan Lal Meena, the chief guest. Students showcased ribbon and umbrella drill, loops, fan dance, butterfly dance, pom-pom, karate, aerobics and yoga display. The students enthusiastically participated in 50m and 100m race, spoon and marble race, sack race, frog race and balloon race. School director D P Galstaun, secretary L B Galstaun, assistant director Edward Galstaun, academic head Sharon Galstaun, principal K K Kunjachan, vice-principal P P Singh and principal Seema Singh were present.


Tender Hearts International: Students of Tender Hearts International celebrated Christmas at Patna zoo on Friday. Tiny tots garbed as Santa Claus displayed placards and posters with different slogans sending a message to the society to save animals and environment. Students cut the cake and greeted each other. They were told about medicinal plants and the use of plants to lead a healthy life. School principal Kiran Bhatia and teachers were also present.
