A Louisiana man may spend the rest of his life in prison after he confessed to stabbing and killing his girlfriend's convicted molester and stuffing his body into a 55-gallon barrel.

The Advocate reports Jace Crehan, 23, was found guilty of second degree murder Thursday for the July 4, 2015 slaying of Robert Noce Jr., 47. The newspaper reports Crehan broke into Noce's trailer before dawn and attacked him in his sleep. Crehan awaits his Jan. 18 sentencing and faces life in prison.

During Crehan's confession, the newspaper reports he showed no remorse for the murder.

"I feel a lot better. It's not regret," Crehan said during his confession, according to the Advocate. "Is it remorse? I'm not sorry for what I did."

In that same article, the newspaper reports Monk punched Noce 10 to 15 times while Crehan held him in a headlock on the floor of his bedroom. Crehan initially told investigators that Monk wasn't involved in the murder. He later admitted she was at the scene of the crime after investigators found her DNA in Noce's home.
