That’s according to Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.
Jose Mourinho’s side recovered from their disappointing Manchester derby defeat last weekend by limping past Bournemouth on Wednesday, thanks to a rare Romelu Lukaku goal.
They come up against a Baggies side without a win since August, but they’re under new stewardship in Alan Pardew and will take confidence from their midweek stalemate at Liverpool.
United remain 11 points behind their neighbours at the top of the Premier League and while Merson has been disappointed in them, he expects them to stay in touch with a 2-0 win at The Hawthorns.
“I thought Manchester United were the only team that could beat Manchester City,” he said.
Manchester United player ratings vs Bournemouth at home

“Manchester United haven't been great, and they were poor again against Bournemouth in midweek, but they will have too much for them.”

“But I was embarrassed by them last week, I thought they were atrocious.
“A big team like Manchester United playing at home and just trying to keep the score down. It was really poor.
“But are West Brom going to score a goal? It's alright changing managers and saying we are going to do this and that, but what's changed? Nothing.

United had won five consecutive league games prior to defeat to Pep Guardiola’s men and they’ll be hoping to rediscover their goalscoring touch as they enter a congested few weeks.
West Brom are dangerously close to the relegation zone and Pardew will be counting down the days to the transfer window so he can begin to make his mark on a squad lacking in threat.
