ICFAI Founder NJ Yasaswy (posthumously) gets visionary eduPRENEUR of India award
Sobha Rani Yasaswy, Chairperson, ICFAI Society has received the prestigious Honor of ‘Visionary eduPRENEUR of India' (posthumously) which was conferred on late NJ Yasaswy, the Founder of ICFAI Group from ex-President of India Pranab Mukherjee at a function held at CSOI, New Delhi. IndianOil launches nation-wide Security Week
IndianOil commenced countrywide observance of Security Week 2017 in New Delhi on Thursday on the theme of ‘Respect All, Suspect All, Inspect All', and by felicitating select Territorial Army (TA) personnel in the company for their outstanding contributions in times of natural calamities and national emergencies. DGM of NHDC opens SILK FAB Exh at Hotel Pacific
The exhibition-cum-sale of exquisite silk handloom fabrics that enables an interface between weavers and consumers commences on Thursday. It has been inaugurated by Eshwar V Patil (DGM, NHDC) and Mozammil (Senior weaver from Azamgarh). Silk Fab Exhibition is an initiative of the office of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, GoI through National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC) Ltd to provide direct access to the handloom weavers to market their products to consumers in various cities of India. The participants are from various State Government Bodies/ Apex Societies, Primary Handloom Weavers Co-operative Societies and Handloom Agencies. 60 agencies belonging to 11 states are participating.
NMDC transfers Bailadila Deposit-13 in favour of NMDC-CMDC (NCL) Ltd
Bailadila Iron Ore Dep-13 lease in village Kirandul, Tehsil - Bacheli, Distt - South Bastar Dantewada (CG) has been registered in favor of NCL (NMDC-CMDC Ltd) on 04.12.2017 subsequent to the State Government order dated 06.11.2017. Earlier the lease deed of Deposit-13 was executed by NMDC on 10.01.2017 pursuant to lease grant order dated 07.01.2017. The transfer of lease from NMDC to NCL (NMDC-CMDC Ltd) was warranted as per the clause of the JV agreement and conditions in the lease grant order. NMDC-CMDC Ltd is a Joint Venture company in which the ratio of equity holding of NMDC and CMDC are 51 percent and 49 percent respectively. NMDC-CMDC Ltd has planned to start the mining operations in FY-18-19 and the production of Deposit-13 would meet the requirement of Chhattisgarh-based sponge iron industries and other domestic steel makers.

Gail’s HAWA BADLO MOVEMENT REACHES COMMON MAN
Hawa Badlo is a movement for Indians citizens motivating them to help in protecting the environment and reduce pollution levels. It aspires to transform India's current air quality index and spread the awakening in rest of the country. Hawa Badlo intents to connect with the citizens, who are currently at massive health risks due to constant rise in lethal pollutants in the air. Its objective is to create awareness about the consequences of environmental contamination caused by human activity and it motivates people to inculcate air-friendly habits such as switching to CNG/electric vehicles, carpooling, and use of public transport. As individuals, there are multiple things one can do to save our planet, our environment and, indeed ourselves. On the occasion of the World Environment Day this year, GAIL organised a car pollution check drive where the cars were checked and serviced at the camps free of cost. GAIL plans to support Hawa Badlo movement and empower the idea till it becomes a national movement. KadviHawaBadlo - In order to sensitise people about the destructive effects of climate change, GAIL recently released a short film titled, ‘KadviHawaBadlo'. The film is set in the backdrop of a sunken Mumbai city in the foreseeable near future, and stars Sanjay Mishra and Ranvir Shorey. The film was released with an objective to make each individual accountable and take necessary action, ensuring a greener and cleaner tomorrow. The short film has more than 4.5 million views across the social media.

N Rly organises Indian Parmanent Way Engineers Seminar At Rail Museum
With greater emphasis being laid towards safety on tracks on Indian Railways and to find newer avenues to strengthen the core rail infrastructure making it competent for Semi High Speed Rail Traffic, a seminar on Small Track Machines, Ballastless Track, Maintenance for Semi-High Speed Route & Rehabilitation of Bridges was organised by IPWE under the Aegis of Northern Railway Centre at National Rail Museum, New Delhi. Naveen Chopra, Principal Chief Engineer, N Rly, was the chief Guest on this occasion. The event was attended by about 150 expert Engineers, Supervisors and Staff of the zone. The Daylong seminar witnessed five presentations and several rounds of discussions on the topics: the Ballastless Track, Corrosion of Rails and its prevention, Small Track Machines and its repairs, restructuring of Permanent Way cadre, Elimination of Level crossings by construction of Limited Height Subways (LHS) and maintenance practices on semi high speed track.
TC Gehlot opens cochlear implant surgery summit
Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister inaugurated the ‘CSR Summit for Pioneering Cochlear Implant Surgery’ under CSR initiative of Airport Authority of India (AAI) through Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO)', on Thursday. Shakuntla Gamlin, Secretary, DEPwD, M/o Social Justice and Empowerment, Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI, DR Sarin, CMD, ALIMCO and senior officers were present. A few children, who have overcome hearing and impairment and have started to hear and respond (which is not less than a miracle) with the Cochlear Implant Surgery under CSR initiative of AAI through ALIMCO were also present along with their parents and they communicated with the guests on the occasion.

John Flannery, Chairman and CEO, GE had a meeting with Atul Sobti, Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL, at BHEL's Corporate office. BHEL and GE have an over three-decade long association in the energy and infrastructure areas.
