Faculty Position in Computational Neuroscience : Lausanne, Switzerland

The School of Life Sciences of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) position in Computational Neuroscience. In exceptional cases, appointment at the level of associate or full professor may also be considered.

The search is broad and covers all areas of computational, theoretical and simulation neuroscience including links to experimental animal and human neuroscience and other big data approaches to neuroscience.

The EPFL is committed to excellence in teaching and research and provides a dynamic environment including the Brain Mind Institute of the School of Life Sciences (http://sv.epfl.ch/BMI), the Institute of Mathematics of the School of Basic Sciences (http://sb.epfl.ch/mathematics), the School of Computer and Communication Sciences (http://ic.epfl.ch), the Center for Neuroprosthetics (https://cnp.epfl.ch), the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent and competitive research program in a multidisciplinary environment and engage with researchers in related fields across the EPFL, such as life science, computer science, machine learning, applied mathematics, scientific computing, neuroprosthetics, human brain imaging, psychophysics. The successful candidate is also expected to launch a collaboration with the Blue Brain Project (http://bluebrain.epfl.ch) as part of her/his research program.
