The final day of 2017 promises memorable entertainment throughout Indianapolis, including a landmark birthday for a Broad Ripple music venue and all-ages revelry in the open air.
Check out our suggestions for 20 New Year’s Eve events, featuring not one but two former Colts punters onstage:
1. “Ciroc The New Year”

Look for a "Carnival Unleashed" theme with an all-star DJ lineup including Indiana Jones, Gabby Love and Action Jackson.
2. “Downtown Indy Inc.’s New Year’s Eve on Georgia Street”
9 p.m. Dec. 31, the intersection of Georgia Street and Meridian Street, free, DowntownIndy.org, (317) 237-2222.
Known for its signature "drop" of an IndyCar at midnight, this Georgia Street event is shifting west this year because of construction near Pennsylvania Street. A trio of Indianapolis DJs — GNO, Hugh Jeffner and Slater Hogan — will supply the soundtrack.
3. “Bud Light New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball”

The 11th annual edition of this party includes an '80s theme (contests for biggest hair and celebrity impersonations) in Union Station's Grand Hall.
4. “A Night at the Moulin Rouge”

Las Vegas DJ Shai Peri headlines this party accented by burlesque dancers and silk aerialists.
5. ”Hyatt Regency New Year’s Eve Bash”

Known for a massive midnight balloon drop in the Hyatt Regency's 21-story atrium lobby, this party includes music from the Flying Toasters, My Yellow Rickshaw, Corey Cox and the Hunter Smith Band.

6. ”Family New Year’s Eve”

A balloon drop at 8 p.m. caters to the early-bedtime crowd, who also can find fun in face-painting and magic tricks.
7. ”Countdown to Noon”

This event doubles the countdown fun with daytime celebrations at noon and 1 p.m. Zak Morgan, whose 2003 album "When Bullfrogs Croak" earned a Grammy nomination, will perform.
8. ”New Year’s Eve at the Vogue — 40th Anniversary”
9 p.m. Dec. 31, the Vogue, 6259 N. College Ave., $20 to $100, TheVogue.com, (317) 259-7029.
DJ Marcus spins the hits at this landmark Broad Ripple theater, which became a music venue when Illinois R&B band Coal Kitchen performed on Dec. 31, 1977.
9. ”Pat McAfee presents a Ridiculous NYE”

Retired Colts punter Pat McAfee performs stand-up comedy in the Murat Theatre, and the party moves upstairs to the Egyptian Room to ring in 2018.
10. Richard Edwards & his Nuclear So and So’s

Singer-songwriter Richard Edwards plays a show with members of his old band, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's. A range of musicians accompanied Edwards on Margot projects, and this performance will feature different lineups performing songs from their respective eras.
11. “Hyryder’s Grateful New Year”

Focused on improvisational jamming, Hyryder spreads its Grateful Dead-inspired tunes across two nights at the Mousetrap.
12. “Punk Rock Night’s Creepy New Year’s Eve”

Horror-folk band Harley Poe tops a bill that includes the Jasons, Black Cat Rebellion and 9th Circle Symphony. A Pabst Blue Ribbon toast is scheduled for midnight.
13. “Strokes New Year’s Eve Tribute”

Following last year's tribute to Weezer, four musicians from the bands S.M. Wolf and the Bonesetters unite to perform two Strokes albums — "Is This It" and "Room on Fire" — in their entirety.

Expect an easy-grooving performance from this acoustic guitarist known for his work with Al Stewart.
