Two discom staff held for taking bribe

Kota: Two technical assistants of Jaipur Vidhyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) were on Friday held by an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuth of Baran for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 for sorting out a penalty issue from a consumer in Mangrole town of Baran district. The accused would be produced before the ACB court in Kota on Saturday.

Two technical assistants identified as Rajmal Suman and Rajendra Suman, posted at JVVNL AEN office in Mangrole town were held for accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from one Dharmraj Suman, a resident of the same town, said Gyanchand Meena, circle inspector, ACB, Baran.


The complainant had lodged the case with ACB on Thursday and following the verification of the complaint, the trap was laid on Friday, the C I said.


One of the accused, Rajmal called the complainant to his residence with bribe amount, he said adding after the complainant had handed over the amount, he called other assistant Rajendra to share the bribe amount.


Rajmal Suman is in vigilance team and in recent past, he caught illegal connection at Dharmraj's residence, he added.
