Two hooded men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from a lotto office in Tarxien, the police said.

The hold-up too place at noon in Paola Road.

The two men, one of whom was armed with a pointed instrument, entered the lotto office and demanded money. At the time, the lotto office was being manned by a 50-year-old woman, and another 67-year-old woman was buying tickets.

Neither of them was hurt, the police said.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera is conducting aninquiry.
