Akshay Kumar starrer most awaited film ‘Padman’ trailer has been released on the social media. The film is directed by R Balki. The movie put light on the issue of menstruation faced by women across the world.

The filmmakers have shared two-minutes 22 seconds long trailer that features Lakshmikanth Chauhan’s (essayed by Akshay) motivtaional journey of discovering a mode to produce inexpensive sanitary napkins for women in his village. It’s his devotion and sincerity towards his idea that takes him to the UN headquarters. But, his companion (essayed by Radhika Apte) appears to be uneasy with his work.
The film trailer has a voiceover by legendary actor Big B who launches India’s first-ever superhero PadMan. The movie features Sonam Kapoor in the prominent character of educator Rhea.

‘Padman’ is based on the journey of Coimbatore-based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on Republic Day next year.
