It has now been revealed that new evolution items have been added to Pokemon Go.

A Niantic update made to the official Pokemon Go support site confirms that two additional items can be collected to evolve Pocket Monsters.

While it appears that references to these items may have been removed since, the Pokemon Hub reports that both Deepsea Scale, Deepsea Tooth were part of an extended list.

In Generation 3, the Scale and Tooth are used to evolve a Clamperl into a Gorebyss or a Huntail.

And this means that like all other evolution items, Trainers will need to start spinning those PokeStops to collect them.

Another new piece of Pokemon Go Gen 3 news also confirms that the fish Feebas will have its own special requirements for evolution into Milotic.

According to more reported information from the official site, Feebas will need to be walked as your buddy Pokemon before they are ready to be evolved.

This apparently equates to around 20KM covered before Feebas will change its spots, as well as the right amount of Candy.

Ho-Oh Legendary Raids went live after fans of the hit Niantic iOS and Android game completed the Global Capture Challenge last month.

The Pokemon Go event tasked trainers with capturing three billion pocket monsters across the globe.

Pokemon Go players managed to hit that goal before the deadline, and also unlocked a rare Pokemon Farfetch'd for a brief time.

Ho-Oh was originally meant to have departed from Pokemon Go earlier, but Niantic recently extended the end date for the Legendary Raid.

While the Raids have now ended, Pokemon Go fans were able to try and catch Ho-Oh in Legendary Raids until December 14, two days after the originally planned end date.

Ho-Oh isn’t the only new pocket monster that has recently been added to Pokemon Go.

The new Pokemon Go Gen 3 update included more than just Pocket Monsters from the Sapphire and Ruby games.

It also launched Niantic’s new Weather Effects feature, which provides boosted Pokemon with better stats and Stardust rewards, depending on what’s going in your area.

And the development team have provided a few more details on how this new system will, and won’t, affect the game moving forward.

When it comes to upcoming Pokemon Go events, it appears that Weather Effects will remain separate.

Niantic have told The Express that they will not be adding in any extra bonuses when it comes to seasonal events.

We were interested to find out if there was any appetite to maybe do something new with Weather Effects, perhaps providing a Winter Week to fans so that everyone could grab some specialised Pocket Monsters.

This would prove helpful to those who lived in areas with less cyclical weather patterns, but it’s not something that Niantic are looking into doing.

Niantic developer Matt Slemon had this to say on the subject, telling The Express: “The most important things for us when it comes to the Weather feature is that we enforce it is an AR feature.

“This isn’t something we want to make up, so we don’t want to virtualise snow for instance, in Los Angeles.

“We want the weather (in Pokemon Go) to reflect what the weather's like outside.

“That being said, if there are Pokemon that might spawn more often in the snow, you might still see them through events showing up because of the event, rather than because it’s snowing outside.”

Niantic have confirmed that they will be hosting a new Pokemon Go Christmas event this year, following the success of 2016’s campaign.

The development team have revealed that there will be new fun things to do in connection with the upcoming event, with the aim to improve on last year's run.

There’s also been reports that the new event will not launch until around December 20, which would roughly fit in with what happened last year.
